Starr Indemnity & Liability Company, Argentine Insurance Branch, has conduct in compliance with the laws, regulations and rules that apply to it. Law 25246 assigns to Insurance Companies, Producers Advising Insurance, Brokers and Agents the mandatory subject, in the terms of arts. 20a, 21 inc. a and b) and 21a, must observe in its operation the measures and procedures defined in RG 28/2018 UIF, as amended by RG 156/2018 UIF (Financial Information Unit).

This resolution lays down the guidelines to be observed for the identification of customers, having the different information and documentation requirements to be completed as appropriate.

Fraud Prevention

For Starr Indemnity & Liability Company, Argentina's Insurance Branch, the fight against fraud is a matter of vital importance. Therefore, and in the event of the provisions of the RG 38477/2014 of the SSN in Starr Indemnity & Liability Company, Argentine Insurance Branch we have proceeded to develop various procedures, actions and means aimed at preventing, deterred and detecting fraud. The Company is committed to providing the highest quality products and services through the integrity and ethical practices of its employees and business partners. Starr Indemnity & Liability Company, Argentine Insurance Branch declares a zero tolerance for fraudulent acts and will pursue them to their last consequences.

Insurance fraud is any action or omission aimed at obtaining illegitimately a benefit from insured persons, third parties, insurance agents, lawyers, suppliers and employees, as well as other professionals involved in the contracting, issuance and / or accounting of insurance, or in the production, communication, intervention and / or repair of a claim. Fraud is a misleading act or omission by which the fraudster intends to gain an advantage for himself, or for a third party. Most jurisdictions have an anti-insurance rule and most are a crime.

The modalities of fraud indicated by the RG 38477 as an exemplifying way are: deception, assertion of what is false or disguised as the true, artifice, arguing, machination, abuse of trust or any other scheme.

Consequently, it is necessary and indispensable to become aware that the existence of fraud affects the whole community, since this significantly changes the value of premiums, thus harming people in good faith.
